Forlorn Hope has been at the helm of the Sri Lankan Black Metal movement for over a decade, the band is synonymous with extreme live performances and raw Black Metal.
The Forlorn rites were initiated in Kandy, The Hill Capital of Sri Lanka in the year 2002. To date the band has released an EP, a Single and two Split EPs with Zver and Old Castles Massacre.The two founding members, Buddhika Karunasekara (Vocals) and TPKR (Drums) are joined by Wartek (Guitars) of Manifestator notoriety and are currently in the process of recording thier long awaited debut album.
Forlorn Hope`s sound is inspired by band such as Gorgoroth,1349,Satryicon,Portal,Spektr,Mayhem,Burzum,Bathory,Cryptopsy and Akercocke. Whilst the lyrics are wound around theme that range from Oppression to Misanthropy to Sadism.
